Inductive and Functional Types in Ludics
نویسنده
چکیده
Ludics is a logical framework in which types/formulas are modelled by sets of terms with the same computational behaviour. This paper investigates the representation of inductive data types and functional types in ludics. We study their structure following a game semantics approach. Inductive types are interpreted as least fixed points, and we prove an internal completeness result giving an explicit construction for such fixed points. The interactive properties of the ludics interpretation of inductive and functional types are then studied. In particular, we identify which higher-order functions types fail to satisfy type safety, and we give a computational explanation.

Type Theory in Ludics
We present some first steps in the more general setting of the interpretation of dependent type theory in Ludics. The framework is the following: a (Martin-Löf) type A is represented by a behaviour (which corresponds to a formula) in such a way that canonical elements of A are interpreted in a set that is principal for the behaviour, where principal means in some way a minimal generator. We int...
متن کاملLeast and Greatest Fixed Points in Ludics
Various logics have been introduced in order to reason over (co)inductive specifications and, through the Curry-Howard correspondence, to study computation over inductive and coinductive data. The logic μMALL is one of those logics, extending multiplicative and additive linear logic with least and greatest fixed point operators. In this paper, we investigate the semantics of μMALL proofs in (co...
متن کاملLudics without Designs I: Triads
An orthodox introduction of a paper on ludics should begin as follows. First, the authors say what ludics is commonly intended to be: typically, they would say that it is a kind of game semantics which is close to the more popular categorical game models for linear logic and PCF introduced in the last twenty years. Having set up the context, then they could informally describe ludics as an unty...
متن کاملLudics, dialogue and inferentialism
In this paper, we try to show that Ludics, a (pre-) logical framework invented by J-Y. Girard, enables us to rethink some of the relationships between Philosophy, Semantics and Pragmatics. In particular, Ludics helps to shed light on the nature of dialogue and to articulate features of Brandom’s inferentialism.
متن کاملDialogues in Ludics
In this text we expose and defend the following claim: “Ludics is a relevant framework to ensure both the formalisation and another way for studying dialogues”. Once our model presenting a not formal notion of dialogue, and explaining the correspondance with some core concepts in Ludics has been introduced, we give a light technical presentation of Ludics, focusing on the most relevant points f...
